Advice from a Singer Sewing 

Machine Manual from 1949

Prepare yourself mentally for sewing.

Think about what you are going to do.

Never approach sewing with a sigh or lackadaisically.

Good results are difficult when indifference dominates.

Never try to sew witha sink full of dirt dishes

or beds unmade.

When there are urgent housekeeping chores, do these

first so that your mind is free to enjoy your sewing.

When you sew, make yourself as attractive as possible.

Put on a clean dress. Keep a little bag of French chalk 

near your sewing machine to dust your fingers as

intervals. Have your hair in order, powder and lipstick

put on. If you are constantly fearful that a visitor might

drop in or your husband will come home, and you will

not look neatly put together, you will not

enjoy your sewing.

While I was in the shop we had a lovely chat! 

 Lots of ideas!

Looking forward to the next visit!

 I took the train to Hilversum, the next stop down the track!

A visit to the library was full of surprises!

Lots of magazines and a cafe with good coffee!

and a lunch menu!

 I found a comfy chair and enjoyed the morning!

 " Something good will come from procrastination!

 Then on the way back to the train.....!

I just had to check it out!

 Selling this, it has to be a great store, don't you think!

 A good selection, friendly staff, 

 Cows, flamingo's, great cottons for quilting!

 Picked up these to try the MSQC Rhombus Cube Quilt!

I think I'll have to support this store more often!
