A fine evening to check out the allotment! Remember the photo of the seeds that are smaller than rice? Well, they are starting to sprout!

The potato plants are starting to flower!

And the pumpkin plants are settling in just fine!

Do you ever think of scenes in a film when you are doing something? How about when one digs a deep hole for a pole? Doesn't that remind you of the scene in Alice in Wonderland! Remember when Alice followed the rabbit through the hole? What ended up happening to her! The Mad Hatters Tea Party, Painting the roses red and " I'm late, I'm late for a very important date!" Have to watch the films again! So much to do on the next rainy day!

We've experienced the dryest Spring on record in The Netherlands! Lots of sunshine hours!

The "Joanne's House" quilt that I took a year, with pleasure, to make following "Leanne's House" design was finished and hung on the wall a few months ago! I would like to try/start one of her other designs, Down in the Garden, next winter. That would take a year to make as well! But something strange has happened in the meantime!

Now, after a few months, and all the thoughts of empty bobbins when I'm almost finished a seam, the many pricked fingers and the use of the stich ripper are long forgotten I do miss the challenge of colour, pattern and choice! Is this quilt withdrawl?

I thought I would start something for the Summer but nothing has caught my eye until now! Thanks to "Freebies for Crafters" for sharing Hyacinth Quilt Design! There is a link to this quilt "Garden Fence"! It would make a great Quillow! www.hyacinthquiltdesigns.blogspot.com/2011/01/garden-fence.html

A junk sale for a good cause in Baarn today!
Something caught my eye that had some assembly required!

Great find!

At home the Honeysuckle is flowering!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Just when I thought there was nothing new at the allotment...
..out jumped a frog!

And then there were three!
The allotment is ready for rain!
Yesterday evening I went to the allotment to plant French pole beans as well as these!

The seeds are smaller than a grain of rice!

A few are planted in a container amongst Cosmos.

And a few in the ground!

An afternoon at the allotment!
The pumpkins are planted around the chairs!

Dill is seeded in the big terracotta pot!

The latin name is placed by the peanut butter bush!

and the slugs have been busy as well!

This plant should reach 2 to 2.5 meters!

There are 2 baby birds hopping around!
and they are doing well!
Moved a few stones and built a wall

to make room for...

..a water fountain!

No, not this one! This is an indoor type! But I do like the idea of the fine chain work cascading down from each level. I have something in mind! When I'm out and about in Soest next week I'll stop in at Vaarderhoogt and take a look and a photo of what they have.

Around the garden!

A growing baby Blackbird in our backyard
With the dry weather the Piony's are looking good!

I would highly reccomend these! They're still blooming!

On the creative side, I found this.

I'll let you see what it will soon be!

A bit of rain....
...can do wonders....

...in the gardening world!

Seems to be growing...

...by leaps and bounds!

A morning in the garden...
..then when I was on the way to Baarn...
A slight delay!

The stage is set for garden art!

Geraniums
On the wall!
So this is what I planted last Fall!
Nectaroscordum siculum / Ornamental onion
Be careful what you plant!

The Shumac(Flueel/Azijn boom) is invasive!

Maybe I can get them to grow in a pot?

First Piony of the season!
Out with the old....
...and in with the new colour!

Why do slugs climb to the top of the garden waste container?
