Warmest September 30th! 25C

And took a different view of things!

Time for the first comparison! Same ingredients!

But "Home Made" with walnuts it is!

It was a beautiful morning to get the paint brush out!
And once the Hammerite paint brush was in use with...

...the new green, why not do the complete set?

23C this afternoon in the Garden!

And the collection grows!

Look what I found at the 5th shop on my search for drainage!
Then to Buitenzorg to get them in place. Need more dirt!

Sunday afternoon the Sansevieria's were thinned and...

...divided to fill a few more pots! That's 22!

I'm all set for a rainy weekend! Which mix is best?

Over at Hyacinth's blog this quilt caught my eye! From the book Living Large 2 by Heather Peterson of Anka's Treasures. What a fun way to use large print fabrics! Very tempting indeed!
It's the 25th today. Time to check out the new Blogger's BOM !

There was a photo of this plant tower on my blog back in May. Now it's September and look at what a nice Fall display it is! Asked a few questions ....

....then it was time to get to work on the project at Buitenzorg! Turned over the half barrels to drill a few drainage holes. Nice! Sunny and 20C today! The smell of smokey oak and warm spiced wine is very different than a glass in France!

Holes drilled, a layer of gravel, 75 liters potting soil and the towers are in place. Need to find a drainage/watering system to continue.

A beautiful evening to spend in the garden!

A few Hosta's are flowering!

This evening they've arrived at Buitenzorg!

I thought I would carry out a potting soil and Hosta experiment!
This coconut fibre compact soil was bought at Aldi supermarket!
It comes complete with it's own bag!

Added 3 liters of water, waited the 5 minutes.

After 6 minutes a nice light coconut fibre soil product!

The second was bought at the Action!
added the 3 liters of water...
..and after an hour! But we got there after mixing!
So, pot 1 is potting soil and Aldi coconut fiber mix,
pot 2 is only Aldi and pot 3 is the Action product!

Today was quite a sunny autumnal day! To the allotment! Harvested the last of the veg. After the wettest summer in The Netherlands there was one Butternut Squash and one Canadian Acorn Squash of edible size!

Spitted and weeded and planted Lillies!

Should be a colorful start next year!

And these "sticks" will have small pink blooms!

Good Morning! Time for tea?
Take a look at these great ideas over at Freebies for crafters!
A canvas, box of Crayola Crayons, glue gun and a hairdrier!
A trip to Action is soon needed for supplies!
Then these made from old jeans!
It will be a colorful winter!

What a way to end 11 Septemer.

What a storm last night! Wind, rain, thunder and lightning!

Thought I'd check out the allotment!

This might be a great place for a Gunnera!
Then back home to tidy up the garden!
Hosta Plantaginea Grandiflora

I think the 3 new Hosta's will do well here!

The storm was so that even the rain came in through the hood!

Yesterday, 50 members of the Hosta Society had a great day out!
It was our September garden and plant nursery tour!

first stop www.beukenhof.info in Barneveld.

Then a lesson in Hosta's by Wim Willemsen

at www.kwekerijwillemsen.nl in Veenendaal.

Last garden of the day was www.kasteeltuinhemmen.nl

A great Autumn day out in Hindeloopen!

After warm chocolate milk we visited the Skate Museum!
http://www.schaatsmuseum.nl/ and a tea shop ofcourse!
It's end of the season, but a 10 hectare
lavender farm is well worth visiting next year!
