A weekend full of plants!

 The Dutch Hosta Society was busy this weekend!

 Coffee, Hostas, Garlic extract! We're ready!

 It was a beautiful, warm and sunny weekend by Krijn Spaan! 

Just enough rain to water the plants!

There are still lots of colour choices at the garden nursery!

Hostas!

 Yesterday,a sunny Hosta filled day at The Gazebo in Diepenheim!

 12 volunteers helped out with the Hosta inventory and weeding!

 Some of the areas are looking great! We learned a few more of the more than 1300 Hosta names that can be found there! Hosta Tenryu is definitely one to add to any collection! It sure is a strong Hosta! And with 7 foot tall flowers....a must have for any garden!

With a few Hosta leaves for a vase, it was time to head home!

We'll be visiting the Gazebo again in early Fall!

One more day of Hosta inventory to complete the task! 

August rains mean...

 Bring out the spices!

Ground ginger, cardamon, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves!

 Chocolate and Chai with Pecans and coconut squares!

 August! There are still bright flowers to be found!

 And Hostas! 'Sum and Substance' is looking good!

Time for coffee and a treat while we enjoy the view!

Summer nights

 Time to enjoy the candles in the garden this weekend!

Lumberjack Festival!

 This weekend Lage Vuursche hosted the 

29th annual Wood Cutters Festival !

 Lots of great wood carving action to see!

We'll see this one again on the way out!

 There were carvings from small...

 to large!

 Need a new table top?

How cool is this machine!

 It lifts, rolls and slices! A great tree processor!

 Time for the speed carving competition! Just 30 minutes!

 Chain Sawing! All in a row!

A little bit of rain didn't put anyone off!

 And just when you think you're almost finished

 and the time is almost up....

 the bobbin, I mean, the fuel runs out!

 Great results after 30 minutes!

 Great sawing!

 Now there's a super baggage carrier!

 A bit of polishing!

 Remember, we saw this when we arrived!

How it has changed!

 It's really looking a lot like Absolem !

I wonder where the home for this one will be?

There was a lot to see, eat, and learn! 100 market stalls full! Something for everyone, if you could put up with a little noise!  Even I came home with a few old zinc pots that I'll use for Hostas! So much creativity during this festival!
