Garden Tour!

Hello! Do you have your walking shoes on? Umbrella? We're going for a bit of a walk on this 5th weekend in August! Did you realise that there were 5 weekends this month?! Watch out, the path might be a bit slippery! We've had a bit of rain!
 Lots to see and explore!
Would love to sit here and enjoy a campfire with you!
How about breakfast here on a warm summer day!
A lovely place to go for coffee!
The borders are full of color this time of year!
Room for two donkeys! Got to love that!
A Dahlia lover! That's how to add splashes of colour!
That's where we'll be sitting soon! Let's keep exploring!
 We followed this creative path....
 ....to a great Hosta border!
There was a sunny border too!
 Great use of Hostas here!
 Colour!
 Flowers for Fall bouquets!
 Surprise!
That was a garden full of surprises! We had a great tour! She has more planned for next year! We definitely have to come and visit again next Spring!
Time for tea and fresh warm scones with clotted cream while we enjoy the view over the garden as the rain begins again! Thanks for joining me!

Flowers for you on a Friday!

Sunflowers! I just love seeing them!
They have a great selection growing at "Kasteel Groeneveld"!!
What a great feeling to walk amongst them!
You should see how tall some of them are!
"Take only photo's, leave only footprints"
This useful garden gadget is still made by the Amish in America!
The trees by old Apple Orchard are looking good!
What a shame....
This beautifully restored building in the Canton's Park
 is still empty!
Would make a great place for a cafĂ©!
Fall is definitely in the air!
Hope you can enjoy finding colours of Fall this weekend!

Summer evening Cinema!

Hi! There's movie night at Soestdijk Palace!
Tonight it's about Jane Austin!
You could picnic, bring your own chairs, and rain gear too! These ladies sitting in front of us were really enjoying their picnic when the rain came! But they were really prepared! After about a 10 minute shower, the film started!
Here's the screen! An inflatable frame!
What an easy screen to set up!
There were a few lamps to light the path!
And check out these garden light fixtures!
It was a fun "girls night out"! Thanks!
And, if you're still in town this weekend, there's a garden in Amersfoort that's only open to the public a few times a year! This weekend is your last chance. Open from 11 til 17.00! Might see you there amongst the Hostas...LOL! Time for a cup of coffee! Hope you can enjoy your weekend!

Magic happens!

When you mix rain and sunshine!
Wow! What a way to start the weekend!
Yes, I'm already planning for the summer of 2015! Yes, Joanne, one pot is for herbs and one is for growing courgette, or what some people call, zucchini! No Joanne, not for another Hosta! Not even if it's the most wanted Hosta on your list! A courgette plant has lovely leaves and beautiful edible flowers! Just think of all the recipes!
 Hosta 'Guardian Angel'
and the new grass Panicum virgatum 'Shenandoah'
A beautiful grass to decorate the garden
during the Fall and Winter months!
Almost weather for Hot Chocolate! Join me!

Feels like Autumn!

Tuesday, the 19th of August was the coldest 19th of August in the last 90 years! 15C! Hello! Join me for a cappuccino? Time to get the name tags ready for the latest Hostas to enter the garden!
The begonia's sure did do well this year!
Front garden is looking rather colorful!
 Hosta 'Touch of Class'
A corner filled with plants for Butterflies and Bees!
 Hosta 'Ringtail'
 Rose hips!
It's an early, but beautiful start to Autumn!
Hope your day is just as nice!

The Dutch Hosta Society Day 2

Here we are! Ready for the slug filled questions Hosta Day!
This is a show plant of Hosta 'Weee' !
 What a nice rippled effect!
Look what came home with me!
Not too bad at all after a weekend at a nursery!
I supported The Dutch Hosta Society as well!
Hosta 'Dream Weaver', 'Rainbows End'
'Cathedral Windows', 'Wheee' and 'Ripple Effect'
My garden tools have been sharpened! Had a lesson from him and bought a new file from "de tuin heeren"! Plus, after a weekend talking about Garlic Extract, I'll be giving it a try here at home! Should help against the slugs!
See! There's always room for one more Hosta! LOL!
A bit of work to do in the garden this week!
Hope you can get out and enjoy the week ahead!
