and a Summer's 20C!

Hello! Usually when I put things in the garden they look smaller, but, my latest treadle table base still looks a bit big. So, time to measure things up! The Pfaff base is about 55 cm.....
One of the Singers is also 55cm.....
And the Lada is 68cm! That must have been quite a piece of furniture to have in the house! I wonder what it looked like, complete with a sewing machine and a wooden table top. A bit of history.... Lada was made in former Czechoslovakia between 1919 - 1965 then it merged into Eltex. In 1972 the government stopped its sewing machine production. There's a lot of history in these beautiful machines! Don't you just love them! Looking forward to finding the next one!

Thanks LeeAnna !

Haapy Cows and other Spring things!

Hello! Enjoying the warm sunny weather? Did you change you clocks one hour ahead? We did, here in The Netherlands! The weather certainly has been great! The fields are dry so the cows were let out Friday at this farm! They're enjoying being outside! It's hard to see on this photo but a few were really moving about!
You have to smile when you see this work of art!
She's done a great job!
 Tea time! Even at work!
Yes! Something new here in the garden!
A round slate table top on a Lada treadle sewing machine base! What a great addition to the garden! It's an amazing piece of slate! 100cm in diameter! A bit of Hamerite paint on the base and we're ready to decorate! Now, I wonder what colour I should paint it! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

National Pancake Day!

Hello! It's Pancake Day in The Netherlands! I didn't know that either until I saw an add on "Buien Radar"! Of course it's made possible by Tefal and one of the biggest producers of pancake mix, Koopmans. But any way...Did you know that Pancakes made there way from China to Nepal in the 12th century?
That there's a recipe for Pancakes in a 1439 cookbook!
And that the world record for a stack of pancakes is 84 cm!  Have fun the next time you're making Pancakes!

 Woohoo! It's dug out!
Then there was the matter of splitting it in 2!
First visitor in the garden today!
The Gardening season has definately started!
I tried to make a selfie with a snail!
Snailfie! LOL! I think I'll get back to gardening!
Hope you could enjoy time in the garden today!

"Change Battery" it said yesterday!

So I did! Then I could take a few photo's today! Hello! Glad you dropped by!  A few drops of rain the morning! Sure makes the Camellia's look nice!
They're sure looking great after the Winter we didn't have!
I found another interesting garden recipe for Miracle Grow
This one looks like it's worth a try!
Have you ever stopped and smelled  one of these?
The joys of gardening! Time for tea!

You know you're a quilter....

...when you buy a tin for the pattern and not for the contents! I'm sure I can find a few volunteers to help empty this one!
Do you know the tune to this one?
Thanks Saskia!
Hello! Great to see you here! If you're in Soest and know where the Action is, you must check out this store! It's located next to the Action. They're so creative with wood!
They do great things with pallets, planks, recycled stuff and even the "legs" from a Singer treadle sewing machine! Look at these garden work tables! Go, go inside! And don't forget to look up!
Enjoyed the bike ride?
There's another one tomorrow!

Healthy Hostas

Hello! What a rainy start to the day! Even the rain legs were tested! The rain sure was needed for the garden though! Time to warm up! Do you have time to join me for Hot Chocolate with Caramelo! While I was blog hopping I came across a home remedy for Healthy Hostas. The ingredients are Listerine, Epsom Salts, Ammonia and Ajax Dish Soap! You mix all this in a sprayer container and attach it to your garden hose. Spray monthly. I contacted a few Hosta friends and now have a Nema Sprayer to use! I just have to set up a test area. I'll keep you posted. The Hostas are just starting to grow so it will probably be around May before I give this a go! Have a great weekend!

Just Show Up!

I was blog hopping, like I usually do, and came across a great article written by Oh Mrs. Tukker. She wrote Just Show Up ! So after doing a bit of Garden Design Study I did just that! Show up! You can join me if you want!
 And I started!
This wasn't done in a day!
 Inch by inch.....
"And you thought there was 3 feet in yard!" LOL!
 While the weather was dry!
 The green turned to brown!
I'm still showing up! Are you?
Happy Dance when I can stand up straight!
One container full here! But wait! There's more!
And there was more than this! If you only knew...
There should be a show called...
"Help, my wife thinks she's a Gardener!" LOL!
The first new Hostas for the collection are in sight! Hosta Forbidden Fruit and Hosta Frisian Waving Steel! Starting in May there will be quite a few weekends where the Dutch Hosta Society will be present! You'll hear a lot more about that when the time comes! Now it's time to get the garden ready and slug free if that is at all possible!
