Inspiration

 A fun day out in the garden yesterday! No heavy wet clay ground there! A gorgeous Fall day with friends, good food, a garden and sunshine! Today, definately glove wearing weather when biking! Wind is "water"cold on the hands! Brrr. Just have to warm them up a bit round a cup of Hot Chocolate! Join me while we talk about garden inspiration! After a few failing tries of growing rhubarb at the allotment I'm still going to give it a try next year!

Just have to find a photo of a big old house with a garden around it so I can attempt my own! I think I know of such a house, just a short bike ride away, with a few gardens filled with Hostas and other donated plants!

Calgary is heading towards -16C by Thursday night!

 A great day out with Joan today! Beautiful Autumn colours  as we drove to Harderwijk! We went via the Flevoland Polder to see how good the Dutch are at reclaiming land from the sea! Stopped in Zeewolde for the Dutch culinary delights of "Kroket met en patatje Oorlog"! Then under an aquaduct to Harderwijk!

After Harderwijk we headed to Buitenzorg! We wandered around through the leaves and viewed the gardens! Then on to Lage Vuurshe. Busy! But so Autumnal pretty! Further up the road is Maartensdijk! And a trip to The Netherlands wouldn't be complete without trying Dutch "pannenkoeken"! What a day full of laughing and talking English!Thanks for dropping by and seeing a bit of The Netherlands! 

 It was 16C when I was out and about this morning! Will be as high as 18C today! 20C and sunny tomorrow! Great for all those visiting The Netherlands this weekend! My cycle ride included a stop by the local Kringloop! You know when you haven't been there for a while when they ask how you are and where've you been!

 This big teapot caught my eye!

Paint it! Plant it! Mad Hatter Tea party it!

 Have to get some chopped wood to fill this!

DITG, Down In The Garden, History today!

After seeing this quilt a few times I just had to give it a try!

I ordered it via a webshop here in The Netherlands!

When winter arrived it was time to get started!

Tried this design wall fabric.

Then this fabric to use so I could "stick" the pieces on!

This worked out well!

Here's the paper view!

And all the fabric pieces are still holding on!

All 9 Blocks cut out!

Then I started sewing them with an old hand sewing machine!

The first 2 blocks of DITG!

and block 3!
