I thought I'd try it in black and white to show the difference in leaf formation between the different Hostas! Just need a few more bags of potting soil, then I'm almost ready for August!

Still Standing!

The new Balustrade system is still looking good!

Hello! Great to see you! After the worst Summer storm in July ever on record last Saturday, here in The Netherlands, and a lot of rain....plus the 15.8 mm today, the garden is still dry! And it's doing rather well! It's Almost August! The evenings get darker a bit earlier so then I can light the candles and sit outside before it gets too late!

Fragrant Hostas!

 Hosta 'Diana Remembered' is in bloom!

 I'm testing out fragrant Hostas!

I want to find one that fills the air with its fragrance!

One I can set on the patio next to a chair!

 This one has beautiful white flowers!

But morning or evening, you have to get your nose really up close to smell this lovely one! So, looks great but doesn't pass the scented Hosta that I am looking for test! That's fine! There are a few more Hostas to test this Summer!

A Gorgeous Hosta Day!

 The Dutch Hosta Society is busy planning for their upcoming September Garden Tour! It really is  better to visit a garden in person before making the final plans! So we headed off to The Jorrissen Hoeve in Schijf! That's near Roosendaal!

 But first we got together in Otterlo!

A gorgeous day to be outside!

 Amongst all the Hostas!

 I couldn't resist taking a few photo's!

 Yes, this is a Hosta too!

Hosta 'Queen of the Seas' came home with me for my collection! And a few back issues of the American Hosta Journal for some fun Summer reading! Now I only have Hosta virus 'X and Z"!

There's a new look in the Garden!

Woohoo! The new balustrade system has been built!! 

Gives the patio a totally different feeling!

Ready for those Summer evenings still to come!

Even used up a few tiles from my "Tile Stash"! 

Time to set the table and light the candles! 

Cheers! Time to go check the beer traps!

What's growing in the garden!

 The Lilac is flowering! Again!

I put a few flowers in a vase next to my laptop!

 The Thalictrum 'Elin',  that I planted last year has really settled in and is now flowering! There should be more stems appearing during the coming years! And there is room for ....

Helenium! and Echinacea, Coneflower!

Need to add a bit of colour for Aug/Sept!

Hemerocallis 'Canadian Border Patrol' 

I bought it for the name of course!

They're starting to bloom! 

Look what came in the mail!

 An envelope filled with a surprise!

 Wow ! It's a Quilt Block Book! 

My very first Quilt Block Book! Let's take a look inside!

 It's made with Alma Lynne panel's!

 And pages from felt to store all those quilt 

and handwork "works in progress" squares!

 There's a place for everything!

 And a sewn in zippered pouches!

 Have to love Alma Lynne!

Time for a Garden Fair!

There's a great Garden Fair at Krijn Spaan Nursery at the end of August! The Dutch Hosta Society will be there! Plants, coffee, plants! Should be a great weekend! See you there!
