Beer is supplied!

After two days on slug patrol and a rainy day out in the gardens, it's time to try a new plan of attack! Beer! There is an all you can drink slug bar located at Sum and Substance!
Across the road, the slug bar at
Sum & Subtle is open all night!
There's a new place at the 3 way junction between Liberty, Ringtail and "no name"!
And there's a small, hard to find place, but just as good, hidden at Maui Buttercups!
Then there's that hole in the wall they're always visiting!
But the big slug party might be here tonight!  I wonder how many "under age" will be out and about hitting the local establishments tonight?! We'll have to stop by early tomorrow morning to find out which bar was visited most!

Rainy Sunday!

Hello! Don't let a bit of rain get you down!
After yesterday's beautiful Kings day festival!
Time for a bit of a walk!
The nature sure needs it here!
Borage(komkommerkruid)
 Just look around!
 Orange Poppies(Klaprose) !
A shot of colour in the garden!
Even the lighter shades are nice!
Sunday! Time to do a bit of stitching!
So true! LOL! I have to use this in a wall hanging!
Hope your day was just as colorful!
Oh yes, the first handful of slugs have been found amongst the Hostas and removed this evening! These are the perfect weather conditions! It's staying lighter longer so get out there and see how many you can find! They say slug slime is good for the skin! Or is that just on tell sell ? LOL! Anyway, slug slime isn't bad for you either! Enjoy your garden!

Kings Day!

Hello! Today's the day that the King's Birthday was celebrated in Holland! A day where every town, village and city in The Netherlands becomes one big Flea market! If you're looking for a bargain.....you really have to be here!
There's a lot of stuff! Lots! There's a treasure to be found for everyone! I think I did rather well! I went without a day pack and  without my bike with bike bags! So, it was the "if you buy it, you have to carry it" theory!
6 dessert dishes! That was my find today!
A great addition to an Afternoon Tea table setting!
See you next year on "Koningsdag" !

Hobbies!

Hello! We all have hobbies! That's what makes us who we are! Some hobbies are more common than others! And some are definitely one of a kind! Wait until you see what's inside the Cigar Band house in Volendam!
Click on the photo to enlarge it if needed!

It's amazing!
 A Dutch Windmill!
A popular land mark in Sneek!
 The Martini Tower in Groningen!
Even the living room was covered in cigar bands!
The Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem!
And the old Town Hall in Gouda are just a few of the master pieces made from cigar bands! It is quite the collection! Thanks! Thanks to all those creative people who share their hobbies with others!

I'm still here!

 Here in The Netherlands!
14 years ago today I immigrated, moved, changed address!
Thanks for sharing memorable moments with me over the years here at Teatime Gardening! It has been fun creating, gardening, baking, taking pictures, walking, learning, stitching and doing a bit of quilting and laughing! What can one collect in 14 years! LOL! Let's see what the years ahead will bring, where they will take me!  Thanks for being part of my life as I live life in The Netherlands!

Easter Monday!

Good Morning! Are you enjoying a bit of chocolate?
Let's go for a walk! Wow they must be big here! LOL! First in English... Wild Rooster! Now in Dutch - Wildrooster, this just means cattle guard in English! Did you get the accent right? LOL!
The picnic quilt squares are made and sewn together to form one big square! 64 inches x 64 inches ! Time to sew it "in the ditch" ! Enjoy your Monday!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! 21C expected today!
There's a Cheese and Butter Museum near Woudenburg! Look at all these lovely cheese keepers! This is definitely b.t. ( Before Tupperware) ! Would be great for that festive piece of Stilton!
Then, there is an old street, indoors, to walk along!
You can look inside! Enjoy your visit!
They also have a few different collections on display!
Fun to see how many times you say, "I have one of those!".
Then a new weekend project! I started that picnic quilt!
By last night I had chosen and cut out the fabrics!
Good thing it's Easter long weekend!
Hope you can enjoy a bit of fun and sunshine!

Good evening! Hope you are well and getting ready for the long Easter weekend! Should be a fine one to get outside! These ducklings are enjoying the water already!
The Hostas around the new garden ornament have been moved to form a bigger circle with room for a few more during the coming gardening season!
Then a layer of gravel was added to the center. Now you can see the details better! Maybe a hanging Fuchsia will be added for a bit of eye catching summer colour!
And maybe an early flowering Clematis planted on one side to trail up, over and around it on a Spring day like today!
If you have room, here's a great garden idea I came across on blogland! How cool is this! Now this is a good size work surface! And when the gardening season is over you can remove it and put it away for the winter! Let's enjoy a cup of tea after all this gardening!
